I actually live in Blairgowrie so I suppose I am a little bias however it is one of the best "unknown" golfing areas in Scotland with 5 courses all within 5 miles.
Only 14 miles from Perth and 20 miles from Dundee, the small town of Blairgowrie sits on the foothills of the Grampian Mountains making it an ideal base to tour Scotland. You are never far from anyplace here, even places like Edinburgh and Aberdeen are within fairly easy reach if you are prepared to sit in the car for an hour or so.
If you come here to play golf for a week though you are not going to have much time to get around and see the sites.
The most famous Golf Course in the area is Blairgowrie which has two 18 hole courses, Rosemount and Landsdown. It also boasts one of the best 9 hole "wee courses" anywhere in Scotland. The "wee course" is perfect for a fun game after dinner on those long summer evenings.
5 miles from Blairgowrie is the little town of Alyth where there are three 18 hole golf courses. Two of the courses, Glenisla and Alyth sit side by side separated only by a road. The other course Strathmore is a mile away.
Strathmore Golf Club.
Glenisla and Strathmore both have driving ranges for those of us that like to hit a few buckets to loosen up. The Strathmore and the Glenisla courses have been built recently and now that the trees are growing both offer an excellent golfing challenge. All the courses around Alyth welcome groups and large parties.

There is an abundance of hotels and small guest houses in the area, all near the courses although you would need a car to get to all the 5 courses. There are a few pubs and restaurants that offer great value meals and hospitality.
If you were considering a Scotland Golf Holiday that won't "burst the bank" I highly recommend coming to this area. It's fairly undiscovered and the courses are not very busy. The pace of life is very slow and there are a ton of things to do if the weather goes against you or you have non golfers in your party.
We at http://www.scotlandgolfbreaks.co.uk/ can easily arrange a tour for you and your party. Simply use our form on the website, tell us you would like to visit this area and we will give you a no obligation quote.
